Women in O&G Meeting 7pm Wed 15th August 2012 Quay West The Rocks

Dr Eisen Liang - Thursday, September 20, 2012

Interventional radiologist Dr Eisen Liang and Gynaecologist Dr Bevan Brown presented their first Australian series of uterine artery embolisation in the treatment of fibroids and adenomyosis.

The women gynaecologist audience were pleased to find that now there is a minimally invasive treatment for adenomyosis which was traditionally treated with hysterectomy.

The women gynaecologists were also very interested in use of ovarian vein embolisation for management of pelvic congestion syndrome-an under-diagnosed and under-recognised condition.

Dr Eisen Liang is an interventional radiologist with special interest in gynaecological intervention such as Uterine Fibroid Embolisation (UFE), adenomyosis embolisation and ovarian vein embolisation for pelvic congestion syndrome. He performed his first UFE in 1998 and has been performing UFE at Sydney Adventist Hospital since 2007.
